Project PCK Refinery Schwedt
In 2011 extensive modifications on the large factory premises of PCK refinery Schwedt were planned.
The operating company was aware of the fact that only an excellent planning can optimize the temporal scope of work and its smooth realisation. The focus was on detailed and complete survey data of the premises, respectively the selected areas. H&G Hegmanns GmbH Halle (Saale) together with its partner BKR Ingenieurbüro GmbH with its branch office in Böhlen near Leipzig was awarded to take over this project. The object to be surveyed were two big fractionating columns with its attendant facilities and pipe bridges as well as many pipes and equipments and its corresponding steel structure.
With the help of 3D scanning the plant with a footprint of approx. 1000 m2 was digitally surveyed with approx. 300 scans in a very short time by BKR Ingenieurbüro GmbH. The short time period to accomplish this task confirmed the choice to use this technology. With only 10 days onsite intervention, the complete plant could be captured digitally.
Apart from the main capturing of the plant with 3D laser scanning, the already existing fixed-point field was densified and the targets (necessary for the later integration of the single scans to the PCK factory coordinate system) were fixed and levelled.
