Chruch St. Matthäus in Wiesing, Restoration

When doing the restoration of the Benefiziumskirche St. Matthäus in Wiesing, district Regen, a surveying report as basis for the structural investigation of the church was necessary. For this BKR made an as-built survey and handed over to the client, the as-built drawings of the nave and the tower including footprints, longitudinal and cross sections, as well as the illustration of each tower level and all views.

The as-built survey of the church took place from 28 to 29 March 2012. The surveying was done with a local coordinate system. The local initial level was set to OK finished floor level with ±0,00m. We used our 3D laser scanner Imager5010 of the company Zoller + Fröhlich, with which we were able to do a complete 3D survey of all visible construction parts. In total 53 single scans were captured and the churched was surveyed from inside and outside.

For the geocoding of the single scans we used tachimetrically surveyed ground control points in the local coordinate and height system. The software LFM-Server from AVEVA helped us to create the complete point cloud and to communicate with CAD. more...

The as-built data was processed with the Bentley-CAD-software MicroStation processing. From the information of the complete point cloud following structured information arose: 5 horizontal and 3 vertical cross sections, 3 indoor and 4 outdoor views as well as a 3D model of the roof construction. Apart from the footprints of the nave, the attic floor and the tower platform, we created further footprints of the slab undersides in 3 height levels.

The requirements to accuracy deriving from the conservation of ancient monuments, were achieved by our high-precision measurement method and the use of compatible software products. The export of the MicroStation data was done to AutoCad2007/2008 with an according modification in DWG and DXF format. In addition all plans were created in PDF format.
